What Does “Clean” Really Mean?

Aug 31, 2026

“Clean” gets tossed around a lot these days. Greg explains what it means to him and why the label matters.

People use the word “clean” for everything these days.

Clean food. Clean eating. Clean ingredients.

Sometimes I think folks say it so often they forget what it’s supposed to mean.

Here is what it means to me: know what you are putting in your body.

That is it.

You do not need a dictionary full of fancy words. You do not need a nutrition degree. Just turn the package over and read the label.

If the ingredient list looks like something from a chemistry lab, you ought to ask yourself why it is in your food.

I Like Things Simple

On a farm, simple usually works best.

Feed the animals. Mend the fence. Do the work that needs doing. Do not make a mess where one does not need to be made.

I feel the same way about food.

I want flavor in my seasoning. I want it to make a good meal taste even better. But I do not see the need to pile in artificial colors, artificial flavors, or MSG just to make something look brighter or hit your tongue harder.

That is not what I wanted for America’s Best Seasoning.

I wanted a product I could use every day and feel good about putting in front of my family.

Flavor Does Not Need a Bunch of Extras

Hebetz Blend™ is made to bring flavor without burying your food under salt or leaving you wondering what all those unpronounceable ingredients are doing in the bottle.

It has no artificial colors. No artificial flavors. No MSG.

It also has just 1 calorie and 10 mg of sodium per serving. That means you can season to taste and enjoy the food without turning every meal into a salt lick.

Now, I am not here to tell anybody how to eat. Everybody has their own needs and their own doctor to listen to.

But I will say this: paying attention to what you eat is just good common sense.

Read Before You Buy

The front of a package can say just about anything.

“Natural.” “Light.” “Wholesome.” “Better for you.”

The real story is usually on the back.

Read the ingredients. Look at the sodium. Ask whether the product actually gives you what it promises. If it does not, put it back on the shelf.

That is how I shop. That is how I make seasoning.

When you want bold flavor without a bunch of unnecessary extras, reach for Hebetz Blend™.
